What is now BBC's White City building and media village was once home to the 1908 Olympic Stadium. Later renowned for its dog races (post Olympic fever), the stadium spanned 140 acres of land. Originally designed for the Franco-British Exhibition, it accommodated 20 palaces and 120 exhibition buildings.
